we have a lot in common.
Max
Yes we do, Max. We’ve spoken before, but not here :-) Email me and let’s talk.
Hi Liz,
Thanks for sending me to your blog. I’d like to participate by sharing some of my experiences with CL. I’ve just started the adventure and have some possibly enlightening comments.
Story #1:
One night, I decided to check out the Women Seeking Men section of Craigslist. My FWB was getting stale after a year and the 30 yr old Cal grad from Oakland that I had fucked a couple weeks earlier, was into some kinky polyamorous sharing that I’m not quite ready for. All that I knew was that I wanted another FWB, or FuckBuddy or even a girlfriend.
I responded to about a dozen interesting posting from women between the ages of 30 and 46. Most of them responded, and 6 of them turned out to be real people. I had used a nickname and sent the initial email from a peripheral account I had set up earlier.
I may have had good ‘Craigdar’ (Craigslist + radar?) – OK, forget the invented word.
Anyway, I had a good sense of which ads were real for a first timer; it didn’t hurt that I was responding to some women near my age of 45.
The short of it is that YOU were the first person I actually met through Craigslist!
I responded to your posting, you replied, I sent a photo, you responded in kind, we exchanged phone numbers … and “Bob’s Yer Uncle” – we met for a quick drink.
Now that I’ve read some of your blog, there may be some ‘collaborative’ experiences we can share together.
I look forward to sharing Story #2 with you. It could just as easily be called Woman #2, but I try not to objectify women. Story #3 may be the end of my blogging career, as I’m falling for her. Turns out that she was the only ‘real’ woman to respond to my first lame CL posting under Men Seeking Women, which came after my initial foray into the world of SF online personals.
yours, or not,
Jolly G.
I had a chance to go back and review your prior articles. I must say this is an excellent site for those of us who enjoy the CL meet-ups. I have been more successful at this than I would have ever thought and your ideas, stories, observations, and tips are very helpful. May you continue to find fun, success, and maybe even more on your journey through the world of CL.
Take care
Elisabeth,
What a lovely site. A bit of civility and charm in the otherwise barren environment of Craigslist.
Have fun.
Pluto
Liz-
Absolutely THRILLED to find your blog!
Finally someone out there who, ha, “thinks like me” AND isn’t afraid to express herself. We are very few and far between you know! Kudos to you…
